We are the Jewish Federation of Omaha and we serve more than the 5,200 Jewish households in the greater metro area. Many of the services and program sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Omaha are housed on our 28-acre campus located three blocks south of Dodge on 132nd Street. Omaha is home to a several large companies: Berkshire Hathaway, Union Pacific Railroad, Kiewit Corporation, Mutual of Omaha, TD Ameritrade, Intrado (formerly West Corporation), Werner Enterprises Inc., Green Plains Inc. and Valmont Industries. Health services and education are both vital and expanding career fields in Omaha. With many hospitals, health care options, universities and public school districts, professionals in either field can expect various job options and opportunities. The number of tech jobs in the Metro Area has earned Omaha the nickname "Silicon Prairie." The metro area's low cost of living has drawn those looking to start a company on a budget. In turn, Omaha has begun to attract those in the information technology and computer science fields.
