About the class:
Many individuals who are planning to carry out acts of targeted violence often display warning signs in advance of their actions. Threat Evaluation & Reporting Overview (TERO) Training is designed to help the public recognize these potential threats or behavior changes in advance of the targeted violence. (Acts of targeted violence include, but are not limited to, terrorism, school shootings, or mass attacks in public spaces.) Training is open to all community members. Previous security training is not required. This course is for awareness and informational purposes only.

Participants will learn:
– How to identify potential warning signs
– Where to seek assistance
– Additional ideas on how to keep your community safe

TERO emphasizes the importance of community involvement and raises awareness about the behavioral approach to violence prevention, while respecting privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties. Training is presented as a part of the Jewish Federation of Omaha Community Security Initiative. Partnering organizations include the Department of Homeland Security and the Nebraska State Patrol.
