JFO Staff Participate in Day of Caring
Staff from the Jewish Federation of Omaha volunteered at the Heartland Hope Mission for this year’s Day of Caring. Day of Caring is a community event organized by the United Way of the Midlands. It coordinates city-wide volunteer efforts into a day of meaningful action. Nearly 500 volunteers across the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro stepped up to support 28 nonprofit partners in 40 hands-on projects. This year’s event coincided with the 25th anniversary of 9/11, bringing special meaning as both a day of service and remembrance.
Our staff unboxed and organized pallets of donated goods including food, clothing, hygiene and household products. We are proud that these simple acts of service will help support Heartland Hope Mission as it assists individuals facing difficult circumstances.
