From Oct. 11 through 13, the CenturyLink Center will be home to the annual Just For Her event, coming to Omaha for the second time.

The brainchild of Aimee Jacobson and Lindsey Aydelotte of Kansas City, Just For Her started in their hometown in 2009. In just a few short years, it has grown exponentially: it’s become the largest women’s event in the area, with over 275 vendors and over 12,000 attendees in its 5th event this past June. It successfully expanded to Omaha in 2012, and to Des Moines in 2013. This year’s Omaha event offers over 200 booths and provides three days of shopping, beauty treatments, health and wellness guidance, entertainment and food tastings. It’s the perfect venue to sample a rich choice of local and regional businesses. The Big O Pamper Her Lounge will offer $6 mini-spa  treatments, and there will be hundreds of prize giveaways, including $100 shopping sprees.

In an effort to give back to the Omaha community, Aimee says, the event has partnered with Catholic Charities to help stock their local foodbank. “Attendees can bring non-perishable food items and will receive $1 off their ticket for each item,” she added. “That means if you bring eight donations, your entire $8 entry fee is waived.”

On Friday Oct. 11, from 5 to 10 p.m., the event also offers “Salon Cuts for a Cause.” Stylists from Trios Salon and Spa will give haircuts, straighten or style for a minimum donation of $5. All proceeds benefit the Metamorphosis Fund, which helps cancer patients and survivors with the financial burdens that come with treatment and recovery.

The event will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $6 in advance, and $8 at the door; for additional information and to purchase tickets, please visit www. shop.
