To learn more about the details\, please email Lisa Skhkolnick at lshkolnick@jewishomaha.org. \n  \nJulie Platt is the Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and the Foundation for Jewish Camp. In January\, President Isaac Herzog awarded her the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor\, Israel’s highest civilian honor. \nPrior to serving as Board Chair at the Jewish Federation of Greater LA\, Julie served as their General Campaign Chair\, Chair of their Ensuring the Jewish Future Strategic Initiative\, and Chair of the Federation’s Sylvia Weisz Women’s Philanthropy. She also received the Ruby Award from National Women’s Philanthropy. \nA graduate of the University of Pennsylvania\, Julie serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees and is also on Penn Hillel’s National Board of Governors. \nJulie continues to lead JFNA’s LiveSecure Initiative and other JFNA initiatives crucial to the flourishing of Jewish life in North America.

DESCRIPTION:The featured speaker is Mike McCarthy of McCarthy Group \nMike grew up on an Iowa family farm where they raised grain and livestock. He is one of ten children\, attended Mt. Michael High School in Elkhorn\, Nebraska\, and St. John’s University in Minnesota where he received a degree in medieval English. After college he returned to Iowa and started a construction company\, eventually branching into other businesses. In 1986\, Mike and Nancy moved to Omaha and formed a new company\, McCarthy Group\, LLC.\, an investment holding company that partners with managers to acquire and grow businesses. McCarthy Group is currently invested in more than forty businesses\, a portfolio that includes several Omaha companies – Elections Systems & Software\, America’s largest election services business\, Scooters\, a coffee franchise with more than 800 stores and Bridges Trust\, a multi-generational family office management company.

His work has appeared in the New York Times\, Washington Post\, and Wall Street Journal. A leading voice on antisemitism\, Rosenberg has testified before Congress. He is the creator of the video series Antisemitism\, Explained\, and recently released a new album of original Shabbat music called Az Yashir.
