Lila Brand passed away on June 20 at age 83. Services were held graveside on June 23, at Golden Hill Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rozalia and Herman Tiefenbrunner.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Leon Brand; sister, Malwina Moses of Columbia, MD, nieces and newphews, Betty Moses Ellis Golub and Andrew Golub of Kennebunk, ME; Sara Moses Baum and Michael Baum of Columbia, MD; great-niece Sonia Baum Tipp and Alan Tipp of Omaha; great-nephews, Aaron and Tracy Baum of Alexandria, VA, and Corey Baum of Baltimore, MD; greatgreat nieces Adria Tipp and Magnolia Baum, great-great nephew, Asher Tipp, and extended family.

Lila was born in Wadowice, Poland and was a Holocaust survivor, spending the war years in a labor camp in Siberia with her parents and sister. She immigrated to Israel in 1949 and then to Omaha in 1956. She worked as a dental lab technician for over 35 years at Billings and then Kiess Kraft Labs.

She found joy in cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, and her devotion to her family as well as her many special dogs.

Memorials may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or Rose Blumkin Jewish Home.
