Circa 1925… Level with me… if you’re Jewish and in your 20s or 30s, the evening of Dec. 24 can be a bit bland once the Chinese food settles. But don’t worry… it will all be copasetic. Thanks to Young Jewish Omaha (YJO), Beth El, Beth Israel and Temple Israel, the 20s and 30s will be all dolled-up to celebrate Dec. 24 and it will be the cat’s meow.
It’s gonna be a swanky speakeasy party that won’t cost you a single clam to get in and the first drink is on YJO. Now, the joint ain’t ritzy, but it’s on the level and it’s the real McCoy. So, all you flappers get dolled up and you fellas do your best to look decent for your gals. That means dress appropriately for the occasion so we can make some good memories.
Bring your friends, as long as they’re on the up and up. You do not have to be on your best behavior but if any goofs or tough guys start trouble, you will be told to scram.
RSVP at the YJO Facebook event page (http://www.facebook.com/ YoungJewishOmaha) and let us know if you have any questions. You can get me at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 402.334.6431.
The place to be on Dec. 24 is the Phoenix Food and Spirits at 12015 Blondo Street starting at 8:30 p.m. Kosher stuff provided by Star Catering. I will ab-so-lute-ly see you there.
