FAQs

What happens when it snows? Do you have programs?

Yes. We almost always have full day programs when schools cancel. You will need to call ahead at 334-6409 to make sure that someone is here and we have the staffing.

Do you have to be member to participate in the Youth, Camp and Family Programming?

Yes. All of our programming at this point is only open to members. If you want to be a member, please contact Denise Ipock at 334-6552 for more information.

Can I have non-members at Birthday Parties?

Yes. The only person that will need to be a member is the family giving the party.

Do I have to fill out a Health Form each year for the program?

Yes. We do need an up-to-date Health form on file each year.

Do I have to be Jewish to participate in any of the programs?

No!!! Our programs are open to the entire community.

What does it mean when it says bring a dairy lunch?

Good Question! Since we are the Jewish Community Center we do not allow meat to be brought into the facility unless it is catered by Star Catering. Some of our members keep Kosher and the mixing of milk and meat is not allowed. In order to make sure that it does not happen at any level, we are a meat free environment unless it is catered by a specialist in the area that follows all of the guidelines related to being kosher. If you are interest in finding out more about keeping Kosher there are many websites that can be helpful.

Can I just drop in the day of the program?

Yes and no. It is always a good idea to register early since some of the activities do become full or we only have enough for a van. We would not recommend that you drop in without calling to see if we are full for the day. Our goal is to let as many children as we can participate, however, we also want to make sure that we have enough staff and space.
