Free Monthly Wellness Talks

FREE Program  | Held upstairs in the JFO Kripke Library
Once a month, the fitness center partners with experts in the community to bring JCC members informative presentations on various health topics. These events are FREE for all Members. No prior registration is needed. Programs are held upstairs in the upstairs in the JFO Kripke Library. Call Breann at (402) 334-6580 for more information. 10:00 a.m.  |  "Gait & Proper Shoe Fit" by PEAK Performance
Did you know wearing the wrong shoe during exercise can lead to foot, ankle, knee, hip, and even back pain? Do you know if you are wearing the right shoes for your feet? Join us as we welcome professionals from PEAK Performance for an informational talk and onsite gait analysis. Bring your old shoes to gain even more insight! There is no need to register. Wellness Talks are held upstairs in the JFO Kripke Library.

  New! Pilates & Prosecco
  Thursday, August 30,  6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Join us for an evening of Pilates and Prosecco on the outdoor pool deck (no swimming).  There is no better way to celebrate sending the kids back to school than focusing on your health while relaxing with a glass of bubbly and light snacks.  Participants will enjoy 60 minutes of Mat Pilates mixed with sessions on the Reformer all lead by Rachel and Tina. This class is open to JCC Members and Non Members, ages 21+.

Monthly App Challenges
Are you up for the challenge? They are fun and easy to join!
1) Download the FREE Omaha JCC App from the App Store or from the Google Play Store.
(Search for “Omaha JCC” by Netpulse.) Install the app on your mobile device.
2) Quickly and easily set up your account.
3) Once installed, log in to the OMAHA JCC App and go to the "challenges" tab.
4) Select the current challenge you would like to participate in. Once you’re in, all you need to do is track your workouts through the app. To receive credit, ALL workouts MUST be tracked through the app!

August 1-31  |  Stress Less, Exercise More
Record a minimum of 10 minutes of exercise 25 out of the 30 days in August
and you’ll be entered into a drawing for an Eat Fit Go gift certificate!

September 1 – October 31  |  Move Into Fall
Record 140 miles of cardiovascular exercise before October 31st

November 1-30  |  Burn it to Earn it
The average American consumes 4500 calories through Thanksgiving feasts.
Lets work to burn it before we consume it!


New! Family Fitness Day 
Sunday, September 16,  3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Fall into fitness at the JCC with our free Family Fitness Day. Parents and kids, ages 5+, can participate in family friendly classes. Childcare will be provided for children under the age of 5. Childcare reservations are required as space is limited to 20 kids. Please register with Member Services. This event is  FREE and sponsored by BoysTown.

*All children must be at least 4’10” to ride a spin bike. Classes may run longer in length to allow for instruction on bike set-up, resistance, and safety. New! Yoga 101   
September 9, 16, 23 & 30,  11:00 a.m.

Join Yoga instructor, Katie Twit, to explore yoga or deepen your practice.  This series will focus on the basics of yoga; mind, body and breath.  If you have no yoga experience or just want to deepen your understanding of the basics this series will make you a happier healthier human.  Class will be held in the Community Room from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Members: $70 for series or $20 per class           code: 06-0909
