NEW at the Fitness Center

We strive to provide our members with the best facility possible. Through new classes, updated equipment, and improved amenities we work hard to make the JCC the premiere fitness facilities in the Omaha metro.


New Equipment Coming to the Fitness Center

(6/7/17) New equipment will be coming to the Fitness Center this summer! Stay tuned. More information will be coming soon!

• 13 Treadmills
Featuring workout tracking, streamingmedia, & embedded TVs with training programs. Spacious walking/running areas and advanced drive/deck systems provide proper cushion & support.

• 2 Climbmills

• New Bike Options
New cycling options including NuSteps,recumbent bikes and upright bikes.

• 12 Elliptical & Adaptive Motion Trainers
Featuring workout tracking and embedded media. Adaptive Motion Trainers (AMT’s) are variable stride ellipticals, with adjustable step height. Ideal for training for running, jogging, stepping, and walking.

• Strength Training Machines

Allows the user to make adjustments once seated. Weight stacks start at 2.5 pounds and advance by 2.5 pounds.

• Free Weights
All new bars, weight plates, dumbbells, benches, and plate loaded machines. Space will allow users to maximize lifts.

• LifeFitness Synrgy360 & Matrix S-drive
Provide a small group experience that will challenge users cardiovascular and muscular systems. When small groups are not in session, members are free to use these to enhance their workouts.

Updates at the Fitness Center Continue

(8/17/16) As you get ready to upgrade your fitness routine for the fall, you may notice some new elements throughout the facility. We’ve recently refreshed the Fitness Center to include the following items:
  • Cushioned four lane walking/running track
  • Cushioned free weight area
  • LED lighting throughout the Fitness Center
  • Ten – 65” high definition televisions
  • All new carpeting & all new paint colors, floor to ceiling
  • New treadmills, arc trainers, stair climbers, lateral trainers & spin bikes
  • New furniture & artwork

Expresso Recumbent Bike

Expresso bikes are the new wave of the fitness industry. Their interactive riding experience allows you to work out while engaging competitively against a computer, your workout buddy, or other riders throughout the world. The Expresso Bikes in the JCC Fitness Center are couple of the most popular pieces of equipment in the gym, and we are excited to add one more to the lineup. Just like its big brother (the upright expresso, we now have a recumbent Expresso bike!

Like all of our other Expresso bikes, it has 30 gears as opposed to a traditional 12 speed. It includes over 40 virtual tours, ranging from easy to extreme. Tours vary from mountain paths, to city streets, and even outer space! Biometric feedback functions of the bike can track heart rate, calories burned, and power output. The new specs on this recumbent bike allow for greater lumbar support. The "walk through design" and interactive steering handlebars provide a rider friendly set up. Whether you are a beginner or an expert rider, these bikes are fun and easy to use and provide a great workout. Please stop by the fitness center and give these bikes a try, you won’t regret it! Say "HEllo" to The e520 fluid row machine

You may have noticed a new piece of equipment in the Fitness Center. Installed in early March, the NEW E520 Fluid Rower provides near perfect rowing emulation and truly feels and sounds like you’re rowing on water. It has 20 levels of variable resistance, allowing the user to modify the intensity of their workout as needed. If you haven't tried it yet, you should! Rowing is one of the few non-weight bearing sports that trains all the major muscle groups!Even just 30 minutes on this machine can improve cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength!

So what makes this machine different? Water! The design of this machine includes twin cavity tanks that are filled with water. Water is nature's perfect resistance medium. It has unique "cube rule" in regards to its physical properties, which means that in order to move twice as fast through it, you must put forth 8 times the effort! There is no slack, no slippage, no flat spots - just full on resistance always there for you at the precise moment you want it. The user is able to set the resistance level at the stroke speed desired. As the user increases workout intensity, the "fluid technology resistance unit" responds instantaneously, giving you the nearest thing to real on-the-water rowing.
