Sunday Morning Running Club

Instructor: Jen Freeman | Location: Outdoors. Meet in Fitness Center Lobby

Are you a beginning level runner training for your first race, or a seasoned runner looking to refine your technique? No matter what your skill level, the JCC Running Club is here to help. The club is open to men and women, ages 16 and up, and is coached by Jen Freeman. Jen was the Champion of the 2010 Omaha Half-Marathon and had competed in numerous national races. From a 5K to a full marathon, Jen will guide you on a training plan based on your goals. The Running Club will meet every Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in the Fitness Center Lobby before heading outdoors to run. Distances and running routes will vary from week to week.

TRX Suspension Training

Instructor: Staff | Location: Fitness Center

Try one of the hottest and newest trends in exercise. Originally used by Navy Seals, TRX is body-weight based training that can help in building strength, balance, flexibility, core and joint stability. Using TRX training is extremely beneficial and challenging – it is one of the most functional training methods to date. TRXs can be used from simple strength building to plyometric training to yoga and stretching. Each 6 week session is the ultimate experience for extreme all-round fitness. Classes will meet in the Fitness Center. Space is limited to only 4 participants in each class so don’t delay and register!

KETTLEBELL TRAINING

Instructor: Beth Cutsor | Location: Aerobics Studio

A kettlebell is a traditional Russian cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. Using kettlebells, class participants will be taken through a variety of movements all designed to develop strength, mobility, internal energy, work capacity and vitality. Each 6 week session is the ultimate experience for extreme all-round fitness.

JCC Team Challenge to Change

Are you up for a mid-summer challenge? Then grab a friend or family member and join the JCC Challenge to Change. This two month TEAM challenge will motivate you to reach your fitness goals. Top prize is a $200 credit (per team) that can be used towards any* JCC service or program! Hurry! You must register by July 8th!  *Credit cannot be applied towards Membership Dues.

NEW! Cardio Pilates Class

Instructors: Beth Cutsor | Pilates Studio

Looking for a fresh take on a cardiovascular and strength routine that builds balance and core strength? Our Pilates Reformer group classes are expanding this summer to include Cardio Pilates! This class uses the Cardio Trampoline®, a specialized attachment for the Reformer that allows for controlled jumping exercises and core work. The impact is low, but the results are fantastic! Space is limited. You must purchase a Pilates Punch Card and have completed 3 intro classes with either Beth or Amy prior to joining this class. Contact Beth Cutsor at (402) 334-6423.

Krav Maga

Instructors: Master Mike Kassebaum | JCC Gymnasium


The JCC is proud to present Master Mike Kassebaum’s Krav Maga classes. Krav Maga is the official self defense system of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). In addition to being an amazing form of self defense training for use in the real world, Krav Maga will help you get leaner and stronger. This world-renowned training has methods that involve high intensity cardio and strength conditioning, working to improve your overall conditioning.
