Gentle Movement

Gentle Movement is a specialized dance program ideal for seniors and those with Parkinson's Disease. Participants will work on balance, strength, movement, and coordination to engage the mind and body. Classes begin with a sitting warm up followed by standing work and ending with movement phrases across the floor. All movement can be done in a chair and/or with use of a walker/cane. No experience with dance needed. Family, friends, and caregivers may accompany participant at no charge. Everyone is welcome! Athletic shoes required.

Instructor: Georgie Kuhl is a certified dance teacher with DEA (Dance Educators of America), Certified Group Fitness Instructor with ACE (American Council of Exercise), and has completed the Dance for PD teacher training workshop in NYC. She taught Dance for PD classes for 2 years through the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center, Phoenix, AZ. She is currently teaching Dance for PD classes in the Omaha area.
