Backyard Concert Series
Sundays in August  |  FREE  |  5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Grab your lawn chairs and pack the cooler. Bring the family and invite your friends to our 8th Annual FREE Backyard Concert Series. If inclement weather occurs the concerts will be moved indoors to the JCC Theater. The Kona Ice Truck and Dante’s pizza truck will have food for sale at all concerts. Jewish Family Service will also be accepting donations for their food pantry.

Described as “the future of music” by Alan Gorrie (Average White Band) The 9’s showcases a hybrid of 70’s jazz rock, 80’s funk, and soaring stadium rock.
August 26  |  Rex Granite Band Featuring Sarah Benck
With opening act: Virginia Kathryn Gallner
The Rex Granite Band featuring Sarah Benck is a blues/pop group from Omaha.

The Anti-Defamation League Plains States Region will hold their first community-wide fundraising event since 2006, ‘Be an Ally, Make a Difference, Raise a Glass’. This event will support the ADL’s increasingly critical mission of fighting anti-Semitism and all forms of hate. The event will feature a wine-tasting experience and silent auction. It will be held at Gallery 1516, located at 1516 Leavenworth Street. This event is open to the entire community. Tickets are $50 and include wine and light fare. JCC Dance Training Co. Auditions
Wednesday, August 22 |  4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Dancers, ages 12-18, are invited to register for auditions. The JCC Dance Training Company gives dancers an extra opportunity to perform.

#MeToo: How Are We All Effected?
Wednesday, September 5  |  6:30 p.m. | Temple Israel
Rabbi Daniel Brenner, Chief of Education and Programs for Moving Traditions, trains educators, clergy, and mentors to address the challenges facing today’s teens. In the wake of #MeToo, Brenner and his colleagues have developed national training events in partnership with the Foundation for Jewish Camp to help professionals from over ninety Jewish summer camps to challenge sexism, sexual harassment, and sexual assault. Brenner has been named by Newsweek Magazine as one of America’s most influential rabbis.
This FREE event is open to the entire community. Youth in grades 7-12 and adults are encouraged to attend. The program will run 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Temple Israel and will include a Q&A session. This event is sponsored by the Special Donor-Advised Fund of the Jewish Federation of Omaha Foundation, Jewish Family Service, Temple Israel, the Anti Defamation League and Jewish Federation of Omaha.

The Jewish Federation of Omaha will celebrate their 2019 Annual Campaign with a once-in-a-lifetime family experience featuring Sidney Friedman, the  country’s leading mentalist. Mr. Friedman has been seen on the TODAY SHOW and THE VIEW.  Tickets are $36 for adults and $18 for kids. More information coming soon.
