2018 Annual Campaign Update
A Day with the Jewish Federation
of Omaha
The Annual Campaign is in full swing. The Federation staff and its legion of volunteers continues to engage with our community; asking for input, sharing stories of the many people that benefit from the funds raised, and giving our community members the opportunity to support our vital programs and services through a Campaign pledge.  To date we have raised approximately
$1.9 million of our $3.3 million goal.  We have pledges from almost 700 people.  If we have not yet been successful in contacting you to participate in the Campaign, please either reach out to Steve Levinger at 402-334-6433 or Nate Shapiro at 402-334-6440. You can also click here to make your contribution online.

Also, THANK YOU to the Kehilla Cup Ambassadors for raising more than $125,000 for the 2018 Annual Campaign!  Click here to read more about this year's Kehilla Cup success.
The Jewish Federation of Omaha and the Institute for Holocaust Education (IHE) are pleased to present the 16th Annual Omaha Jewish Film Festival.

SHOWTIME: 7PM (for all screenings)
Tickets may be purchased online in advance or at the door.
No movie night is complete without something to munch on. Popcorn, snacks, and beverages will be available each evening.

NOTICE for those who purchased tickets for the November 5 cancelled showing of "THERE ARE JEWS HERE".
The movie has been rescheduled for SATURDAY, December 2nd. We have compiled a list of those affected and the list will be at the ticket table for all subsequent films. You may use your credit for any film. If you are unable to use your credit, a refund will be issued at the end of the Film Festival. Should you desire a more expedited refund, contact Mark Kirchhoff at (402) 334-6463 or mkirchhoff@jewishomaha.org.

We apologize for last week's technical difficulties with the theater's audio-visual equipment. Some components were out for repair and we were reconfiguring the system to be able to show the film. While it initially worked well, it obviously did not when it needed to. The components have subsequently been repaired, returned, and re-installed. Everything has been thoroughly tested and all that is left is for you to join us for the following films:

Be a part of the Mitzvahs happening at the Hanukkah Extravaganza
The Jewish Federation of Omaha and the JCC along with this year's dedicated event chair families, Dina and Jason Cisler, Laurie and Jason Epstein, Sara and Ari Kohen, Emily and Nick Ray and Lauren and Tommy Tam, are excited to invite you to attend the Hanukkah Extravaganza on Sunday, Dec. 10 from noon-2 p.m. in the JCC Auditorium.

The Hanukkah Extravaganza is free to attend and open to the community; however, attendees are asked to BRING TZEDAKAH as our community is raising funds for 'Hanukkah for Houston'! This year's hurricane season has been catastrophic. Houston's Jewish community was hit especially hard during Hurricane Harvey and experienced destructive flooding, from which it is still struggling to recover. As we prepare to celebrate Hanukkah, let's remember that even though the headlines have faded, there are still those in need of our help. Please bring cash and coins to help fill our electric counting pushka that will be set up in the JCC entrance and let's show Houston how much Omaha cares!

New this year, Hanukkah Extravaganza attendees of all ages will also have the opportunity to work on a fun, hands-on mitzvah project called "Wish for Wheels" (www.wishforwheels.org), which provides 25 new bikes and helmets to Omaha's Mercy Housing children in grades K-2nd. Thank you to Michael Staenberg for generously underwriting this project.  If you are interested in volunteering to help facilitate this activity, please contact Louri Sullivan at lsullivan@jewishomaha.org
